Harpsichordist Erin Helyard is directing Pinchgut Opera's 2009 production, and it's the first professional Australian production of Cavalli's L'Ormindo, which was first performed in Venice in 1644. Cavalli wrote over 30 operas and was famous and revered in his day, but he needs reviving these days and Erin Helyard tells us why.
