It's a damned shame Ugobe's death means Pleo will go the way of the dinosaur, but as you'll soon find out, it certainly won't budge our deep love for robots. In cheerier news, elsewhere T-Mobile launched their first 3G Sidekick, while Bluetooth 3.0 + HS got official with fast 802.11 wireless transfers, and Microsoft's Windows 7 Starter edition (namely, it's three app cap) came home to roost.Hosts: Peter Rojas and Ryan BlockProducer: Trent WolbeMusic: Mux Mool - Night Court, Michna - Triple Chrome...

Dire news this week from the retail world as Circuit City announced its immediate nationwide closure, but it's not all so grim. Sanyo's got some Xactis (including the 1080p/60 HD2000), HTC's G2 Android phone may be just around the corner, and some naughty astroturfers at Belkin were put in their place for product review spam.Hosts: Peter Rojas and Ryan BlockProducer: Trent WolbeMusic: Mux Mool - Night Court, Michna - Triple Chrome Dipped, courtesy Ghostly International and RCRD LBL

There's little question that Palm stole the show at CES 2009 when it (finally) launched its webOS and the Pre -- and there's certainly no shortage of things to say about it all. So we're dedicating this CES supplemental to Palm and their "new-ness" -- what the Pre is, how webOS works, and our first impressions of the new hardware and software. Don't worry though, if you're not looking for more on Palm, we'll be back later this week with our regular show and the rest from CES.Hosts: Peter Rojas and...

Well, Macworld and CES are officially under way, but this year's shows are already shaping up to be relatively slow. Phil's Macworld keynote was expectedly low-key, carrying the new 17-inch MacBook Pro and an entirely DRM-free iTunes catalog -- but no revamped Mac mini or iMac. The run-up to CES has been equally mellow, too, with only a handful of noteworthy products being shown around so far, including Sony's new Vaio P and X1000 touchscreen media player, a (future) Eee PC Tablet, and SDXC -- the...

By all accounts, 2008 represented one of Apple's most historic and challenging years to date -- and to discuss, debate, and pick it apart, we've assembled a prestigious panel of experts for our new feature: gdgt roundtable. We'll break out the magnifying glass to take a look at the company's lackluster iPod launches, its increasingly strict stance taken with iPhone developers, the media's obsession with a post-Steve company, and how Apple managed a year fraught with such high-stakes successes and...

Microsoft managed to get the last of Zune's fall updates -- the 3.0 software -- out the door this week, but it was actually some imaging companies that stepped up with some unexpected surprises. Canon's 1080p video-shooting EOS 5D Mark II DLSR and Kodak's new OLED photo frame handily made us sit up and take notice. But there's still the lingering matter of netbooks: where are they going, what's worth buying, and, let's be honest, what are they? Like, really, how are they different from laptops? This...

It's CTIA week, which means there's plenty to talk about in the cellphone world, especially from the likes of RIM and HTC. But Microsoft and Apple both launched their fall media player lineups, too: underwhelming Zunes followed by underwhelming iPods. We've got the skinny on all this and more in gdgt weekly for the second week of September!P.S. -Try not to mind the audio issues, we're still working out the kinks. And again, big thanks to everyone for tuning in, we're still holding steady in the top...

There's definitely been a lot going down in the gadget world over the last year we've been off the air, but we're back, and we've got a bit of catching up to do! In our first episode of gdgt weekly, we'll be going over some of the big news we've missed discussing (including Bill G leaving Microsoft, Helio's collapse, the Optimus Maximus launching, Apple's MacBook Air and the second-gen Zunes), as well as this week's latest: Nikon's D90 (that'd be the DSLR that shoots HD video), next Tuesday's Apple...
